McCormick Care Group

1874-2024

We at the McCormick Care Group are proud to be celebrating 150 years of care in the London community.  Founded as the Women’s Christian Association in 1874, the McCormick Care Group has touched the lives of many members of society in need, including the poor, the marginalized, the hungry, the elderly and the ill.

We are grateful for the passion and commitment of our founders and are honoured to be continuing the important mission they began. The impact of their work resonates in our work today as we focus on improving the quality of life for those living with a dementia diagnosis.  We strive to achieve this level of care excellence through our innovations, focus on safety and quality, strong teams and thoughtful collaborations, and continually work with partners from within and across our community toward this goal.

We invite you to explore our website to see the ways that we have endeavoured to assist those in need throughout our long history in the London community. From starting a soup kitchen in London’s Market Square in 1874 to founding a number of service organizations that continue today, such as McCormick Home, McCormick Dementia Services, Wellspring London and Region, and what is now the Parkwood Institute, many pioneering and courageous women across our history have selflessly given of themselves with the goal of being of service to others.

It is with sincere gratitude that we continue to honour their legacy and to continue their efforts to move care forward.
